This is one actor who has been moving up steadily without trampling on anyone's toes. His rise has gone almost undetected; such is the power of his amiable personality. In this age of multi starrers, Ritesh manages to remain quite in demand and seems to have managed the impossible of being a part of almost every camp.
His comic flair and excellent mimicry skills have also played a major role in his being a part of almost every comedy that is being churned out of Bollywood these days. Currently, the actor is awaiting the release of David Dhawan's 'Do Knot Disturb', which has him cast opposite Govinda, Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta. He is also a part of Sajid Khan's next, 'Housefull', which will see him reuniting with Akshay Kumar. It has been a long journey for the actor, a journey which began with comedies like 'Masti', 'Kya Kool Hain Hum', 'Dhamaal' and 'Heyy Babyy'. But this is the first time that he has had the opportunity to work with one of the best in the comedy business, namely David and Govinda. Hence it will be quite a laugh to see Ritesh trying to hold his own with Govinda. However, besides 'Do Knot Disturb', his next few releases may not actually see him in evoking laughter. It may not be a conscious decision, but the actor will actually be seen in many different avatars this year with the release of Sujoy Ghosh's 'Aladin', Ramgopal Verma's 'Rann' and a romantic flick, 'Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hain'. It could well be his attempt of telling the industry to stop typecasting him as an actor good for comedies only. But being Ritesh, he has hardly trumpeted his cause, preferring instead to slowly go about his work. Now with a variety of roles in his kitty, he can afford to talk. It will be interesting to see if he can successfully make the transition.
