ORISSA, Feb 15 : In a reversal of cases of matrimonial discord, police have arrested a Muslim woman here on the charge of subjecting her ex-husband to constant mental and physical torture.“We received a complaint that was different from the rest of the torture cases. Police swung into action and arrested the woman yesterday for allegedly harassing her ex-husband”, police officials said. The arrested woman, Ansara Begum, a mother of two children, was sent to jail custody after the local court today rejected her bail application, police said. The complainant, Seikh Amiruddin of Jayipura locality here, had lodged an FIR alleging that his ex- wife was constantly harassing him without any provocation. (PTI)
