Salman is a pussycat: Mallika

Hot, sexy, macho, naughty ... these are some of the most popular names associated with Salman Khan. However, Mallika Sherawat has coined a totally weird term for the Khan.

When quizzed about what she thinks of Salman by one of her fans on her microblog, Mallika quipped, "Salman is a pussycat." The sultry actress satisfied her curious fans about what she means by 'pussycat' by saying, "Don't worry, its meant to be good."

When her fans and admirers probed further on what she thinks about Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan, the actress replied, "SRK is the King of Charisma and Hrithik is Talent and Beauty = Lethal."

Interestingly and quite surprisingly, its not Salman, SRK or Aamir who she thinks is the hottest Khan in Bollywood. Nope, it's not Saif Ali Khan also. When asked who she thinks is the hottest Khan in the industry, Mallika promptly replied, "It is Malaika Arora Khan."

Now, Mallika calling Malaika the hottest is certainly a shocker! How often do we see an actress praising another in this industry after all?

Manoj Tiwari Attacks Salman And Arbaaz Khan For Bigg Boss Ouster!

Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari is now ruing over a tweet of actor Arbaaz Khan which said, “I would try save Ashmit by sending a SMS,” insinuating that the Khan brothers Salman (the host of the reality show) and Arbaaz, have ‘scripted’ his eviction from Bigg Boss. Manoj is also learnt to have told a television channel that his eviction could be a ‘conspiracy’ against Bhojpuri actors.

“Mr Tiwari is singling out Arbaaz just because he is unable to digest his defeat opposite Ashmit Patel and probably feels the need to blame someone for it. If Arbaaz tweeted, what’s wrong about it? Doesn’t Arbaaz have his own identity, independent of Salman Khan? Just because he is Salman’s brother, can Manoj Tiwari hold him guilty for tweeting? By doing so, he’s being a petty superstar,” reacted Ashmit’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar.

In his moment of embarrassment, Manoj seems to have conveniently missed out the fact that Karan Johar, Amisha Patel, Manyata and Sanjay Dutt, Farah Khan, Ali Merchant, Hrishant Goswami, Ishq Bector and a host of Bollywood people, along with Ashmit’s growing fan-following, put in their bit to help him win the round opposite the Bhojpuri superstar. We are aware how most of them SMS’d, emailed, posted messages on their Blackberry Messengers, Twitter and Facebook and even spread the word-of-mouth.

Moreover, the biggest chunk of votes must have come from Gujarat, where a mass SMS campaign called ‘Save Aapno Gujjubhai’ (Save Our Gujjubhai) was conducted in the state by Ashmit’s managing team.

Inspite of this, fans of Manoj Tiwari have burnt effigies of Salman Khan in Patna. Manoj Tiwari Fan Club president Manish Kumar, along with some 20-25 supporters, protested against eviction of their superstar and claimed that Bigg Boss had ‘insulted’ the 26-crore Bhojpuri community.

Ajay, Salman, Asin to do rock concerts in Mumbai & Delhi

Tired bored and impatient with traditional ways of promoting films, Vipul Shah has thought up a novel method of taking London Dreams to the audience.

Vipul is in the middle of arranging two open-air rock concerts at two venues Mumbai and Delhi next week, most probably on Oct 27 and Oct 28. The concerts will feature Ajay Devgan, Salman, Khan Asin in concert with musicians Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

The stars will perform in front of thousands of fans amidst the highest and most foolproof security bandobast.

Says Vipul, ''We don't want any security lapses. Our stars will be completely safe on stage. They will be performing not only to the songs from London Dreams. We're also looking at staging some of Salman and Ajay's biggest hits.''

Bollywood stars have never gone on stage to perform at live rock concerts. Vipul corrects that perception, ''Recently a similar thing happened with Rock On when the entire cast performed live. Many years ago Mukul Anand got Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and Salman Khan on stage for the promotion of Dus. So these London Dreams concerts will be deja vu for Salman.''

The stars have already started preparing for the two live concerts. While performing live for Salman is not a new experience, Ajay suffers from stage fright and has never done concert tours. He is making a special effort to face the roaring crowds in Mumbai and Delhi next week. Ajay has been getting used to crowds and feels he can do it.

Revealing plans for the twin explosions in the two metropolises, Vipul Shah says, ''It will be a huge event in both the cities. I am still to finalize the venues because we expect a turn-out of at least 3000 - 4000 people. It would be no-ticket free-entry affair, so you can call it priceless experiences.''

Vipul scoffs at tradition ways of promoting his film. ''In how many ways will Ajay and Salman be asked the same thing? Salman is invariably asked about Katrina and Shah Rukh Khan instead of the film. So I see no point in the traditional media interactions. Besides both the actors have done enough media in the last two months for their other films. Since London Dreams is about on-stage experiences the rock concerts seemed like a good idea.''

After the concerts in Mumbai and Delhi, Vipul intends to stage similar live performances in the other metropolises.

Salman’s ‘Wanted’ gets Supreme Court reprieve

New Delhi, The Salman Khan-starrer “Wanted” will be released Sep 18 after the Supreme Court granted reprieve to Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor in a monetary dispute.

A bench of Justice B.N. Agrawal, Justice G.S. Singhvi and Justice H.L. Dattu allowed release of the film after Kapoor offered to deposit Rs.20 million with the Bombay High Court as surety.

Senior counsel Mukul Rohtagi told the bench that L.M.B. Holdings Limited, a B4U group company, had in June 2007 given Kapoor an advance of Rs.100 million following a tentative agreement to produce films in a joint venture.

The initial understanding was that Kapoor would return the money within 90 days if the two sides fail to work out the details of the agreement for the joint venture, Rohtagi told the bench.

He added that though the two parties failed to arrive at any firm agreement, his client proceeded on to produce “Wanted”, which is now slated for release Sep 18.

He further explained to the court that despite his client failing to return the money within 90 days, the private firm demanded the money back only after the lapse of one year and three months, claiming that in case the money is not returned, he would have rights over at least five films, including “Wanted”, produced by Kapoor.

He said as Kapoor challenged the firm’s contention, the Bombay High Court through an interim order has asked his client to deposit Rs.100 million with the court’s registry as a security deposit.

Contending that the high court order was illegal, Rohtagi offered to deposit Rs.20 million with the high court’s registry in lieu of permission to release one film, which has already been made.

Salman sends women into a tizzy at men’s fashion week

New Delhi, Love him or hate him, you simply can’t ignore him. Bollywood actor Salman Khan wooed women with his charming smile as he strode the ramp at the finale of the Van Heusen India Mens Week (VHIMW) here Sunday night.

Looking confident, the actor walked with poise when designers Ashish Soni, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna of label Cue showcased their collection. All through his walk, the actor kept looking at the audience who were waving, whistling and yelling to get his attention.

“Wow!” exclaimed a female fan when the actor walked in Soni’s black suit.

Sitting in the front row, another young girl kept one hand on her heart and one on her mouth as she couldn’t believe that her favourite actor was just a few inches away from her.

“I just can’t believe it. I am his biggest fan and trust me I am still shaking because the feeling of having him just a few inches away from me is giving me goose bumps,” confessed Ishita Arora.

“There was a point when I thought that I would hug him on the ramp. I am sure no one would have stopped me. But I couldn’t muster up enough courage,” she added.

As the designers and the actor were taking a final bow on the ramp, Salman took off his coat filling the hall with cheers and whistles. But it was not just women, men too had joined them. Salman appeared to be loving the attention.

There were some men in the audience who were envious of the actor because of his well-maintained body.

“He is so fit. How does he manage that? Look at him. Does he look like he is forty something,” asked Vikram Nagpal, a model.

It was not just the magic of Khan but the designers at the finale too left a lasting impression in the audience’s mind.

While Soni’s “On the Run” collection comprised of flawlessly cut tuxedos, cotton shirts, jackets and pants for a leaner sexier look, Rahul and Rohit’s collection “Hypernature” had pants with dropped crotches, small collars with thin ties and denim suits in forest green, apple red, mist blues and evergreen-black.

Also present at the finale were actress Mugdha Godse and director Madhur Bhandarkar.
