I am not capable enough to compete with Big B, says Aamir

Mumbai, Jun 30 (PTI) Two big films--Aamir Khan''s upcoming home production ''Delhi Belly'' and megastar Amitabh Bachchan''s ''Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap''--are slated to hit the screens tomorrow but the actor-producer says he does not consider Big B as competition.

"I think every film has its share of space in the audience. I am a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan and I don''t think I am even on the same platform as him. I don''t sense any competition with him. In fact, I feel I am not capable enough to compete with him," Aamir told PTI.

Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, ''Delhi Belly'', an adult comedy, stars nephew Imran Khan, Vir Das, Kunal Roy Kapur, Poorna Jagannathan and Shenaz Treasuryvala.

''Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap'', produced by AB Corp, stars Amitabh, Prakash Raj, Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon, Charmy Kaur, Minissha Lamba and Sonal Chauhan in the lead roles.

Interestingly, both Aamir and Big B share similar opinion about the fate of their films.

Recently, Big B had said on his blog that, "We make films not to compete or destroy or wage war with our compatriots...Aamir and his production company are much bigger than me and my AB Corp in commercial standing."

To which Aamir had said, "He (Amitabh) is being generous to say so. But I must say I am a huge fan of him. I feel he is much bigger as an actor. He is a bigger brand. I wish ''Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap'' to do ten times better than ''Delhi Belly''."

In ''Delhi Belly'' Aamir will be seen in a retro look of the 1980s disco era in an item song -- ''I Hate You...Like I Love You..'' While in ''Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap'' actress Raveena will be seen doing an item song � ''Main Chandigarh Di Star''. PTI KKP DK

Big B, Rajinikanth to act together after 20 years

After 20 long years, we will again get to see two superstars sharing screen space. Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in a cameo in Rajinikanth’s ‘Rana’. It is buzz that Big B will be doing some scenes in the second half. The detail about his role has been kept under wrap.

In the movie, Rajinikanth will do triple role. Young Rajinikanth will be romancing Deepika Padukone, middle-aged Rajini will be playing Vidya Balan’s beau and the old Rajinikanth will be seen opposite Rekha.

In the past, the both superstars shared screen space in 'Andha Kanoon' and 'Giraftar'. The last time they were seen together in Late Director Mukul Anand's 'Hum' in 1991.

Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth are both going to ablaze the silver screen together again.

Aishwarya looked smashing, comments Big B

Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer, ‘Robot’ hit the silver screen worldwide and it received rave reviews. Not only South but Bollywood praised the movie to the utmost. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is highly impressed with the movie and complimented his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai’s looks.

"Aishwarya looked smashing and danced like she had never danced before. Rajni...what can one say for this man. He is just unbelievable. The film is a roller-coaster ride of fun and ecstasy and events of mammoth proportions," Amitabh posted on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com.

Rajinikanth held a special screening of the movie for his Bollywood friends on Monday. Big B commented after watching the film, "There was a large turn out from the industry - directors, producers, artists and all were simply blown to pieces by the product and its presentation. When you go to see a Rajni film, it's not the film that you wish to see. You see the film for the experience of it. And in this one, the experience is incredible".

This sci-fi thriller is made on a budget of Rs.175 crore. "Merely putting his thoughts on paper must have been an exercise so desirable for the director Shankar. What and how did he think up all these ideas for the script from his mind is reason to envy and lament".

Perfectionist Aamir Khan too impressed with the film. He prasied the actors and the makers to the heavens.

I want to see 'Rann', Bal Thackeray tells Big B

New Delhi, Feb 2 (IANS) Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has asked megastar Amitabh Bachchan to arrange for a screening of his latest film 'Rann', Ram Gopal Varma's take on the media world.

'Udhav Thakeray (Shiv Sena executive president) calls. He has just come out of the theatre after (watching) 'Rann' and is not able to find appropriate words to describe his appreciation for the film and the performance. Minutes later Bala Saheb calls (and says) 'I want to see this film. Come and show it to me! You have not been to see me for a long time',' Amitabh posted on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com.

'I assure him I shall arrange a projection in his house. I ask after his health. He is fine he says,' the 67-year-old actor added.

Amitabh, who plays a media baron in the film, says he is in awe of senior Thackeray's determination even at 84.

'He cannot travel out due to his frail condition, but the fire in him still burns. He is resolute and firm as ever and in that resoluteness you discover an endearing, that sudden soft moment, which has always made his presence so strong and affectionate. His sense of humor is intact as he punches in some wise ones,' posted Amitabh.

Post 'Rann', the actor will be seen in Leena Yadav's 'Teen Patti'. Also starring Hollywood veteran Ben Kingsley, it will hit the screens Feb 26.

Big B felicitated at FICCI-IIFA awards ceremony

Mumbai, Feb 19 (PTI) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was among the top ten bollywood personalities to be felicitated with the first FICCI-IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) Awards for the 'Most Powerful Entertainers of the decade'.

The awards function which was held here last night to commemorate the 10th anniversary of FICCI-FRAMES and IIFA saw Bachchan and actresses - Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty - collecting their trophies while the other winners - Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan - did not make it.

The evening also witnessed the presentation of the FICCI-USIBC (US-India Business Council) Award to hollywood actor and leading social activist Danny Glover and to Congressman John Lewis.

Speaking on the occasion, Bachchan recalled that he had completed 40 years in the showbiz on February 5.

"I am happy at being a part of the film industry which is a symbol of national integration," he said.

When Danny referred to Bachchan as the greatest actor in the world, an apparently embarrassed Big B thanked him for the compliment.

Later in his blog, Bachchan wrote if there was space beneath his chair, he would have disappeared in there. PTI
