New Delhi, April 16 -- AR Rahman, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Bipasha Basu, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif - the who's who of Bollywood are getting ready to shake a leg for the Indian Premier League.

While Hrithik and Bipasha will perform at the IPL Grand Finale on April 25, a bevy of stars will add glamour to the first ever IPL Awards Night, to be held on April 23, in Mumbai. While the organisers tried to keep the line-up a closely guarded secret, HT City learnt that Hrithik will be dancing to songs from his upcoming film Kites, and will also do a choreographed number with Bipasha Basu. "Hrithik's performance will be really special and will include some of his past hits," says a source from Cineyug, one of the event management companies organising the event. Rahman, apart from performing the Oscar-winning hit Jai Ho, will also be seen performing with British pop group Sugababes.

Talking about the international stars, besides Sugababes, that are expected at the Grand Finale, an organiser revealed, "Our first choice was the American rapper PitBull, but he refused. The next choice was Black Eyed Peas, who also said no. We also approached Usher, but he asked for too much money."

The IPL Awards Night will be hosted by SRK and Johar, while Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra will perform. "The IPL Awards is the crowning jewel to recognise the best of this season," said IPL chairman Lalit Modi.

I am smart and intelligent, says Bipasha Basu

Bipasha Basu, whose much-awaited film "Pankh" directed by Sudipto Chattopadhyay released Friday, boasts that if she had not been smart and intelligent, she wouldn`t be where she`s now.


"If you all have been seeing me over the years, you know that I have a good level of smartness," Bipasha told reporters Thursday night at Mumbai`s Le Sutra hotel where she unveiled the Globetrotter Glam special issue of Marie Claire magazine.

"It`s a tough job being an actor and (that too) being an actor coming from outside without any support system, making your name in this business," she added.

"I think if I was not smart and intelligent I wouldn`t have been here today on the cover of Marie Claire and here as Bipasha Basu. It`s very important to be smart and have a personality," the actress added.

Bipasha even gave some tips for the scorching Indian summer.

She believes cotton clothes are the best for the season. "Being in a country like India, I think it`s very important that we wear clothes friendly to the weather. Any kind of cotton clothing like linen pyjamas, linen dresses and shorts with sandals - I think that`s what is needed for this weather," she said.

The actress recommended taking more water and juices to keep one`s system hydrated during summer.

"In summer we need hydration because it is really hot in India. So I would suggest drinking lots of water, fluids, juices and curd with your food. You need to keep your system a little cooler and hydrated all the times," she said.

Bollywood shocked by Lisa's cancer revelation

Bollywood actress Lisa Ray's revelation of suffering from cancer has left the entire Bollywood shocked. Most of the stars expressed their utmost shock at knowing that the sizzling actress is suffering form a rare bone marrow cancer. Similar was the reaction from Sanjay Dutt who was to work with Lisa in a movie which never saw the light of the day. He recalled how he had gone to meet her in Canada and was to stay at the hotel but ended up staying with her family.

Bedika New Delhi, Aug 30 (PTI) Bollywood bombshell Bipasha Basu may be playing the deglamourised role of a housewife in her first Bengali movie but the actress says she is happy with the ''sexy'' tag as a girl-next-door look never interested her. "I love being sexy and I would be happy if people call me sexy even when I turn 100.

I would love to be called a sexy grandmother. The tag has never bothered me," Bipasha, who has been named one of the sexiest celebrities of Asia, told PTI in an interview.

"If a woman says she does not want to be called attractive then she is foolish. I like being exclusive, the girl-next-door image has never interested me.

It is too boring," the actress, who started her Bollywood career with bold characters in "Jism" and "Raaz", says. She, however, believes "sexiness" is not only related to having a good body.

"Sexiness is not only about having a great body. It is about how you carry yourself, your confidence, your self respect, these help you look attractive.

I am sexy with a mind. It is a complete package.

" The Bengali beauty is portraying the character of Radhika in Rituparno Ghosh''s movie "Shob Charitro Kalponik", which deals with love and loss through the story of a woman, who goes on a path of self discovery after the death of her poet-husband. .
